Mr Isaac Liau is a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, who holds Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (OMS). He graduated in Dentistry and Medicine from the University of Adelaide, being awarded the University Medal in both degrees as the class Valedictorian. He was also awarded the F.G. Christensen Prize for the highest marks in the Primary Examination of the RACDS in 2011.
Isaac went on to complete training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through the Victorian training centre of the RACDS, where he obtained a broad range of experience in multiple tertiary public hospitals across the state.
After obtaining his specialist qualification, he elected to undergo further subspecialty training by completing clinical fellowships in Facial Trauma/Orthognathic Surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and Paediatric Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. Following this, he now holds a public consultant position at Monash Health.
He has also completed a Master of Philosophy degree at the University of Melbourne, with a research thesis in the field of bioinformatics, exploring the proof-of-concept establishment of a prospective dental implant clinical quality registry.
Isaac practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with clinical interests in corrective jaw surgery, paediatric maxillofacial surgery, facial trauma, dental implantology and complex dentoalveolar surgery. His passion is the delivery of quality patient-focused care by combining a deep understanding of surgical principles with contemporary technology.
